New tractor started leaking diesel fuel after the first refueling. Had to truck it a 100 miles back to the dealer who replaced the improperly molded tank. New buyers might want to keep an eye open for this. If it happened to me, it could happen to you. I was lucky it didn't create a bad situation.

Did the dealer fill the tank before delivery?
Did he offer free transportation or pay the transport charge?
If not, I'd sure give him hell!

You are lucky you didn't contaminate the ground or start a fire.

Good Luck with your new Kubota, they're good tractors, I have 215 hours ( in 10 weeks ) on my 3130 with no problems.

It seem dealers are getting cheap like the auto dealers and no delivering the tractor with a full tank. Seems pretty penny sound pound foolish to me as for six dollars worth of diesel he now has a customer reconsidering the Kubota's quality.
At least you can be assured that the tank was not manufactured by Kubota (I assume plastic) as the blow molding equipment is fairly expensive and is certainly their out side supplier. Should never have made it through QC though at either plant. ....

The dealer did fill the tank before delivery. We did not notice the plastic tank leaking until it was refueled the day after a full day's first use. Then it pourly out freely over the left rear tire unil we siphoned most of the fuel out of the tank. The dealer did get the repair done promptly, but did not offer to pay transportaton costs. (we used our Ford truck) For our trouble, I asked for a free Kubota hat. He staid he will try to get it. ....

Your dealer didn't give you a hat when you made your purchase?

I'd like to see what the dealer lists for warrantee work in his invoice to Kubota! Bet there is a hefty transport charge for the 200 round trip miles.

I'd be watching that dealer pretty closely, when it comes time for service or other work you have done.

Otherwise, have fun with your new tractor!

Believe me that Kubota doesn't pay for milage on warrantee. The early BX's had a campaign for fuel tanks and haven't seen a problem since, sorry to hear of your troubles. ....

I had a minor problem with a differential oil leak. The dealer had my bx-22 for two weeks. When I picked it up he refused to let me see any paperwork. I wasn't allowed a copy of the service report. Was told that it would be filed with Kubota and that was all I needed to know. Is this common? I don't really trust this dealer but it's the ONLY one in my area. Did you get a copy of the service report when you had the fuel tank replaced? ....

No I didn't get a copy of the service report, but the issue never came up. I never thought to ask for such a thing. ....
